The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) Phase II Schematic Design and Architectural Design Development Proposal
Hong Kong / China , 2015

For the competition, rggA proposed "Habitat Bridges" as the main conceptual approach, which would be the "radiating areas" of the campus.

9-RENDER 3_ÜK.jpg

The proposed habitat bridges are designed to provide new life and public space for students and visitors who want to perceive the campus in a new way. Designed as a lively and dynamic area not only for students but also for visitors, the bridges are also planned to host abundant lush vegetation, various local plant species, urban facilities, bicycle and walking paths. The main purpose of these bridges is to activate the entire campus with a new type of structure that takes up minimal space and to carry the circulation within the campus upwards. Thanks to these bridges, students and new visitors are to perceive the campus in a new dimension and in a livable way with the transformative power of a different architecture rather than a static physical application. Habitat Bridges are planned as living organisms of the campus.
