Azem Meydan
Ankara / Türkiye, 2023

Azem Meydan is conceived as a holistic mixed-use development positioned at the intersection of Saraycık’s two main boulevards, defining the new gateway of the district. The site’s sloping topography has been treated not as a disadvantage but as a primary design input; each level establishes a direct, walk-in relationship with the boulevard, forming a continuous commercial spine.

On this strong public ground plane, three residential towers rising independently and a separately articulated office block present a fluid urban silhouette through their soft, oval geometries. The calibrated placement of voids between the masses allows daylight to reach both the inner courtyard and the surrounding streets, creating a bright and spacious user experience. At the same time, a clear and efficient circulation scheme is established to preserve the advantages of mixed-use programming while preventing any functional overlap between commercial, residential, and office components.

Reflecting rggA’s design approach—one that reads context accurately, simplifies user flow, and builds a strong relationship with the city—the project positions itself as a visionary structure that aims to bring lasting value to the Saraycık district through its architectural coherence, human-centered configuration, and contemporary formal language.
